Mrs. Hlasnick - Grade 7/8 Special Education

Hello!  My name is Mrs. Hlasnick and I teach Reading and English in a Learning Support classroom for grades 7 & 8.  The Reading/English program that we utilize in my classroom is called Read 180.  This program operates in four-20 minute rotations which include whole group and small group instruction, independent reading and computer time.  All instruction and activities are geared towards student lexile levels, which are assessed through the Scholastic Reading Inventory (SRI) program.  My focus is to help students understand that reading is a life long process that includes synthesizing information in a way that helps us learn and grow as individuals.
