MSM: Grade 6: Caryn E. Fleming

Hello, my name is Caryn E. Fleming and I was hired in 2002 as a sixth grade teacher.  I am currently in my sixth year of teaching.  I previously taught fourth grade in the Wilkinsburg School District.

After receiving a BS degree in Psychology and prior to my teaching career,  I worked for several years in the Juvenile Justice System as a Probation Officer.  In 1998, I decided to return to college and pursue a career in education.  I attended school in an evening program where I received my teaching certificate.  I make it a point of attending various professional development workshops to keep abreast of changes in education.  Participation in these courses will introduce me to innovative ideas that will continually address the needs of my students.

I have always enjoyed working with children and find that teaching provides an excellent opportunity to share past experiences and ideas.  I look forward to serving this district and its children for many years.
