1st Nine Weeks Highlights –

Dr. Taylor, School Counselor Supporting Students’ Growth and Success The first nine weeks have been full of meaningful programs and activities designed to help students grow academically, socially, and emotionally. Here’s a look at what’s been happening through the School Counseling Program at Evergreen Elementary!

■ Career Series Success Over six exciting weeks, students participated in our Career Speaker Series, hearing from 20 presenters representing a wide range of professions—from doctoral programs and healthcare careers to skilled trades and entrepreneurship. This series helped students connect their interests with real-world opportunities and inspired them to dream big about their futures.

■ Social Skills & SEL Support • Weekly Social Skills Groups: Small group sessions focused on cooperation, communication, and emotional regulation. • Lunch Bunch Meetings: Students met weekly to strengthen Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) skills, build friendships, and practice positive problem-solving.

■ Positive Behavior & Character Development • PBIS Kick-Off Assembly: Students celebrated Gator Pride expectations and learned how to make positive choices. • The NED Show Assembly: Reinforced messages of Never giving up, Encouraging others, and Doing your best. • Pay It Forward Program: Encouraging random acts of kindness throughout the school community. • Weekly Gator Pride Winners: Recognizing students for outstanding citizenship, effort, and respect. • Monthly Gator Pride Store: Students redeemed PBIS points for prizes as a reward for their positive behavior.

■ Data & Student Support • SST (Student Support Team) & SAP Coordination: Data-driven meetings to identify and support students’ academic, behavioral, and emotional needs. • Gifted Services Data Collection: Ongoing assessment and documentation for student eligibility and enrichment planning. • 504 Plan Development: Creation and updates to ensure all students receive appropriate accommodations. • Student Check-In/Check-Outs: Weekly check-ins with students to support goal setting, responsibility, and emotional regulation.

■ Equity & Collaboration Dr. Taylor continues to represent Evergreen Elementary in District Equity Team Meetings, working to promote fairness, inclusivity, and access for all students.
