National Children's Grief Awareness Day

National Children’s Grief Awareness Day is this Thursday !

We will have two large walls for students to sign the names of their lost loved ones as a commemoration, as we will hang in the vestibule. Students that wish to process, discuss or simply remember their loved ones will have an opportunity at their choice to sit and discuss their feelings with Dr. Taylor.

Purpose: The day is meant to ensure that children receive the support they need after a loved one's death, and to show that support makes a difference in their lives. It helps people understand that a child's grief can be intense and prolonged.

Significance: The holiday season can be particularly difficult for grieving children, making this day a critical time to offer support. Many organizations provide resources and programs to help children process their grief in healthy ways.
