Keystone Exams

The Keystone Exams, mandated by the Pennsylvania Department of Education, are end-of-course assessments designed to determine proficiency in various subjects. During the 2012-13 school year Keystone Exams were administered in Algebra I and Biology to GMS and GHS students and Literature to GHS students.

The Keystone Exams are one component of Pennsylvania’s proposed system of high school graduation requirements. Keystone Exam results will help school districts guide students toward meeting State standards.

Gateway High School students performed above the State average in two of the three subject areas.
