Professional Employment & Support Staff Applications
If you are interested in joining the talented group of employees that comprise the Gateway School District, please take a moment to download and complete the necessary applications listed below.
Educators should refer to the Professional Positions section, while all other job applicants should refer to the Support Positions section.
Professional Positions
Applications for professional teaching positions are accepted at any time during the year. Gateway School District participates in the Teacher Clearinghouse service of PA-Educator.net. All open positions are posted on both PAEducator.net and the Gateway School District Career Site.
Teacher applicants are recruited in many ways depending upon the nature of the position(s) to be filled. Methods most commonly used include:
- Gateway School District Career Site
- Advertising in newspapers
- Working through career service offices of colleges and universities Job Fairs
- Posting jobs in the Pennsylvania School Boards Association’s Information Legislative Service (ILS) Bulletin
- PA-Educator.net – The Western Pennsylvania Teacher Clearinghouse
In order to be considered a candidate for any professional position, an applicant must submit
- Cover Letter/Resume
- Standard Teaching Application
- Pennsylvania Certification/Licenses/Certificates
- Transcripts, if applicable
- Act 34 PA State Police Criminal History
- Act 114 Federal Criminal History
- Act 151 PA Child Abuse History
- TB Test (within three (3) months prior to application)
- School Personnel Health Record/Physical (to be completed within 30 days of hire)
- Three (3) Professional References
Support Positions
Support Positions include, but are not limited to, Paraprofessional & Aides, Secretaries, Custodial & Maintenance, and Food Service.
The District is always looking for Custodial & Food Service substitutes!
Applications for non-professional positions are accepted at any time during the year. All interested applicants can apply through the Gateway School District Career Site HERE.
Support Position applications will require:
- Certificates/License (if applicable)
- Act 34 PA State Police Criminal History
- Act 114 Federal Criminal History
- Act 151 PA Child Abuse History
- TB Test (within three (3) months prior to application)
- School Personnel Health Record/Physical (to be completed within 30 days of hire)
- Three (3) Professional References

Other Required Employment Forms
Act 126 Mandated Reporter Training
Act 126 requires professional development for all school entities in four specific areas:
- Signs of child abuse & human trafficking
- Law Provisions for Child Abuse & Reporting
- The PA Educator Misconduct Act
- Maintaining professional relationships with students and sexual misconduct
All employees of a school district who have direct contact, or who may have direct contact with children must go through the Act 126 Mandated Reporter Training. The Act 126 training must be a minimum of three hours, and cover all required topics. The intent of this training requirement is to protect the children of Pennsylvania by ensuring that all those working with them understand how to recognize and report suspected child abuse.
Gateway School District provides Act 126 Mandated Reporter Training through Vector Training Solutions, whose program has been approved by PDE to meet all necessary requirements. New employees will be assigned this training as a part of their onboarding.
